May 14, 2013: Trip to the Chicago Botanic Garden
I love flowers!!! Spread over 385-acre area, Chicago Botanic Garden is one of my favorite spots in Chicago. It’s really a plant museum, with about 26 theme gardens. Some of my favorites being, Bulb Garden, Rose Garden, Sensory Garden, Native Plant Garden and Circle Garden. In this trip, I wanted to enjoy the flowers and also photograph the sculptures. I also made small little videos of the water-fountains, which can be seen here.. click here..

These images bring so much to me, and at so many levels. They are of nature, I know, but each time I look at them they inform me of things I just haven’t seen yet, even though I bring a life time of seeing to their content. These are very private thoughts, perhaps not to be shared in a public forum, but I’m sharing them anyway . . . out of respect for what the images bring to me, and I’ll let it go at that.
This is a wonderful collection of sculpture and adds a new perspective to the beautiful gardens. My grandchildren will be visiting Chicago this June and I would love to spend an afternoon at the gardens during their visit. Do you have any children’s educational literature that I can use to help us enjoy the visit? Thank you!
