Chicago Loop Synagogue

Location: 16 S Clark Street, Chicago.

The Loop Synagogue was founded in 1929 to serve the religious needs of Orthodox Jews working downtown as well as Jewish visitors to Chicago. The current building was built in 1957 to replace a structure on the same block that had been lost to fire. It is designed by the firm of L Loebl, Schlossman and Bennett.

About Abratham Rattner from wikipedia.. click here..
Abraham Rattner [ 1893 –  1978] was an American artist, best known for his richly colored paintings, often with religious subject matter. During World War I, he served in France with the U.S. Army as a camouflage artist.  His work  can be found in many museum across the world.

He designed the stained glass east wall which dominates the interior of the Chicago Loop Synagogue [1960]. It has been described by architectural critic Brian de Breffny as “perhaps the most beautiful synagogue interior in the United States.”
