Lockwood Park, Rockford
Lockwood Park Trailside Equestrian Center and Children’s Farm is home to a variety of animals including pigs, llama, sheep, horses, goats, rabbits, ducks, donkeys and Huckleberry and his pony friends. There is over 146 acres of gently rolling hills, meadows, woods, natural areas, stream, 15-mile trail system (hiking, biking, or horseback riding), playground, picnic areas, and much more.

The main reason I stopped at Lockwood Park was to see the giant cow: “Gertrude” the Guernsey Cow.
Gertrude is one of America’s biggest fiberglass cows.
Gertrude stands 21 feet from nose to tail, and stands 19 feet high from horns to hoof.
