INDIANA STATE HOUSE

The Indiana State House is the Indiana State Capitol building of the U.S. state of Indiana. It is located in the state capital Indianapolis at 200 West Washington Street. The building houses the Indiana General Assembly, the office of the Governor of Indiana, the Supreme Court of Indiana, and other state officials. It was Built in 1888, and is the fifth building to house the state government.

Mural “Spirit of Indiana” is by American artist Eugene Francis Savage. The mural is 21 feet high by 41.5 feet wide, oil on linen canvas. It was commissioned in 1961 and installation was finished in 1964. The work cost $40,000 and was paid for entirely by an Abbey Fund grant
