2016 Vacation: India

The 2016 trip to India,  was mostly about spending the much needed time with parents. Especially my mom, who just had total knee-replacement surgery. In my past three weeks of my vacation, she had improved dramatically. The photo is of home-team, mom, dad, niece and me. We were in constant touch with relatives far and near, in mom’s post-surgery days especially my sister, who called everyday to check on mom’s progress and gave advice from UK.

I did have a few tourism stints, trip to delhi and closer home trip to Sararam and Madhubani.

Trip to Delhi [April 20-24, 2016].
Four days in Delhi was the most productive trip.
Managed to take a one day tour to Agra. So overall in 4 days covered:

Day I:  Agra: Mathura ( birthplace of God Krishna), Agra Fort (WHS), Taj Mahal (WHS).
Day II: Delhi: Qutub Minar (WHS), Haus Khas, Humayu’s Tomb (WHS).
Day III: Shopping in Sarojini Market
Day IV: Akshardham Temple, Lotus Temple, Purana Kila, Red Fort (WHS) and Chandini Chowk..

Not very happy that photography was not allowed at two places: Mathura and Akshardham Temple.
*WHS is World Heritage Site.

Used bus, cab and Delhi Metro to navigate! Feels like a pro tourist. I was warned it’s too hot, it’s too crowded. I was like, I don’t care! I have 4 days and I am going to see everything I want to. Yey! I managed!

My Delhi trip was birthday gift from mom-dad! Made best use of it! Stayed with my cousin. Lots of people to thank for the trip!
