Takht Sri Patna Sahib Gurdwara, Patna.

Takht Sri Patna Sahib is a Gurdwara in the neighborhood of Patna Sahib, India. It was built in remembrance of the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. It was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780-1839), the first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire, who also built many other Gurdwara’s in India and Pakistan.

Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, was born on 22nd December 1666, in Patna, Bihar, in 1666. He was a Warrior, Poet and Philosopher and was also the tenth Guru of the Sikh Community. He also spent his early years in Patna, before moving to Anandpur. Besides being the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, Patna was also honored by visits from Guru Nanak as well as Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Prakash Utsav 2017 at Takhat Harmandir Patna Sahib.
The 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj – on Jan 16, 2017 – will be celebrated on a grand scale. For preparation of the Prakash Utsav, the Takhat Sri Patna Sahib is undergoing a considerable renovation work. The gurudwara campus is being given a new glorious look and hundreds of sarai rooms are being constructed for the visitors who are expected to arrive in the mega event which is scheduled in January 2017.

We visited the Gurdwara on April 16, 2016.. and saw the renovation work-in-progress, as the images below suggests..
