Location: Plaza of the San Francisco Ferry Building along the Embarcadero in San Francisco, California.

The 8-foot tall sculpture was a gift from the Gandhi Memorial International Foundation.

I was thrilled to see the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in San Francisco. Although it is in car park lot, which is not an ideal place. But then it is said to be the site for Farmer’s Market, and Gandhi being a vegetarian makes sense in that context.

But I’ve read that the sculpture is a known target for vandalism; the eyeglasses are the most-stolen item, and the staff has been broken on several occasions.
