Some Highlights:
– It’s a free, open to all temporary public exhibition, from Spring to Fall 2015.
– Zoo Entrance Fee: Free. Sculpture Exhibition Fee: Free. Additionally free tours are also scheduled for 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. However, there are regular ticketed tours on occasional nights during the summer.
– The theme of the inaugural show is “Nature in Motion.” There are 15 sculptures exhibited in the show. These were selected based on originality, artistic merit and ability to communicate the theme to all zoo visitors.
– The logo for the exhibition is an abstracted bird, derived from Matthew Csernansky’s sculpture “Bird” exhibited near the “Wild Things” gift shop.
About CSI: Chicago Sculpture International [CSI] was founded in 2014, as the first regional affiliate of the International Sculpture Center [ISC]. CSI is a non-profit organization with a membership of over 150 sculptors. The goal is to create and promote the understanding of sculptures and contribute to the community through exhibitions, forums and lectures.
