In my 2013 trip to Patna – which was after a very long time – I was very happy about some developments in tourism department. Three new sites particularly captured my interest: Buddha Smriti Park in Frazer Road [click here..], world’s tallest statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Gandhi Maidan, 70-foot tall [click here..] and this Rajdhani Vatika also known as Eco Park.
Eco Park was developed as to ease the load of Patna Botanic Garden and Zoo. It was an initiative of Department of Environment and Forest, Government of Bihar. Spread over 9.18 hectares of land, the park is home to more than 3,000 varieties of plants, and has a lake and boating facilities. The park is divided into two large sections. Section one has children corner, Food Court and Fountains. And the other section has theme parks like Rashi Van, Guru Vatika, Panchwati and Kewli Van. There is an interesting tunnel connecting the two parts of the park. The park also has some very interesting sculptures like Cactus Smriti by Subodh Gupta and Raja Shailesh by Rajat Ghosh.
