When I was at “Equinox Iron Pour [2013]”, I noticed a sculpture model in the corner that really piqued my interest. It was in Marshall Svendsen’s studio, so I asked him about it. What I learned was absolutely fascinating!!! It was a model of 1938 sculpture “Fountain Group” by Harrison Gibbs, which was being recast by Marshall Svendsen for Peoria Riverfront Museum. When I asked when was the casting? He replied, Monday, March 25! I was free that day. So I went to see the bronze recasting of a 1942 sculpture. And here are some images from the day.
