In Greek mythology, Prometheus is a Titan who was the creator of mankind and who stole fire from Mount Olympus and gave it to mankind.

Mankind Figures: Maiden and Youth – by Paul Manship

PROMETHEUS: In Greek mythology, Prometheus is a Titan, who is credited for the creation of man from clay. He is a trickster figure who stole fire from Mount Olympus and gave it to humanity, an act that enabled progress and civilization. Prometheus is known for his intelligence and as a champion of mankind.

MANKIND FIGUES: MAIDEN and YOUTH – These sculptures represent of the first human – youth and maiden – made from clay, by Prometheus. There are two Mankind figure sculptures resemble clay, although they are cast bronze.
