2010 Studio Visit: Christine Rojek

2010 Studio Visit: Christine Rojek / Working on maquette “Breeze Keeper”.

.

Christine was working on the maquette of “Breeze Keeper”, which I did follow up.. click here.. Breeze Keeper is a wind-activated sculpture. The inspiration comes from the vast open natural prairie landscape of the mid-west. The sculpture consists of 62 counter-balanced aluminum prairies images suspended from four frames. The wave like rising and falling structure of the sculpture not only evoke images of open prairie landform, but the 62 plant shafts also sway in the wind, mimicking the wave-like motion of native plants in the undulating terrain of prairie landscape.
